Very recognised for championing diversity and inclusion in the workplace

November 24, 2025

The Very Group has been awarded a gold accreditation by Diversity in Retail, recognising the ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcomed, represented, and valued.

This achievement reflects the progress The Group has made in embedding inclusion into every part of the employee and customer experience. From introducing new initiatives to offering learning opportunities, Very has been recognised for empowering its leaders to champion inclusivity at every level. This gold accreditation marks a step up from the silver The Group was awarded in 2024 – a testament to the hard work and dedication of teams across the business.

As part of the accreditation process, Diversity in Retail carried out a detailed assessment using the EDI Maturity Curve. This framework, developed in partnership with the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice at Oxford Brookes Business School, helps organisations evaluate their approach to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). Out of 80 businesses assessed, Very ranked 19th, placing us in the top 24% on the maturity curve.

Over the past year, Very has continued to focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive environment. Earlier this year, the retailer partnered with NeuroBridge to enhance support for neurodivergent colleagues, which also launching a ninth colleague network. SAVE (Sustainability at Very), brings together passionate team members who are committed to making sustainability a core part of everything.

Sarah Willett, chief people officer and D&I exec sponsor at The Very Group commented: “We know that everything we achieve is thanks to the incredible work of our colleagues. That’s why we’re committed to building a culture of everyday inclusion, where everyone feels respected, valued, and free to be their authentic selves. Earning this gold accreditation from Diversity in Retail is a proud milestone in our mission to create an equitable and inclusive workplace.”
