Toys topping Christmas lists in 2025

November 27, 2025

Christmas is one of the most important calendar moments for our customers, with many of them planning months in advance.

Nonetheless, the cost of living is continuing to impact budgets and the families we serve are reprioritising this festive season. However, finding the perfect gift will still be important.with many of Very’s customers planning to prioritise gifting.

This year’s toy trends are all about variety with a sprinkle of nostalgia and a big dollop of just-plain-fun. Here are the types of toys topping Christmas lists this year:

From big screen to front room

Throughout this year, we’ve seen a variety of films being released which have led to an influx of new toy products entering the market. From Lilo & Stitch and Jurassic World Rebirth, to Wicked for Good and A Minecraft Movie, the big screen is set to influence the toys at the top of Christmas list’s this year.

Nostalgic play

We saw the kidult toy theme really pick up last Christmas, and it’s stuck around in 2025. We’re seeing adults increasingly buying nostalgic toys for themselves instead of the children in their lives.

LEGO is storming ahead, being our number one toy brand for both kids and adults – it’s a timeless brand that offers creativity for all ages! We’re also seeing high demand for Pokémon, so much so that we’ve started to introduce ‘waiting rooms’ when new launches come out.

Gaming

Earlier this year, we saw the launch of the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, and this Christmas we’re expecting it to be high up on the Christmas wish list for many. Games such as Mario Kart and Donkey Kong have been huge so far, and we expect this to continue to be the case of the coming weeks. Plus, many will be eager to get their hands on a PS5 ahead of the highly anticipated GTA 6 launch later next year.

A creative Christmas

Hours of screen time has become increasingly normal among children and young people1, so this Christmas we’ve expecting creative and wellness-based toys to be popular choices as families look to reduce screen time.
