The Very Group launches search for next generation of interns

March 4, 2020

The Very Group, the UK’s largest integrated online retailer and financial services provider, has launched a search for the next generation of interns to join the business in autumn 2020.

There are 10 placement opportunities in tech and data, marketing, financial services and fashion design available for undergraduates, with each lasting 10 months. The majority will be based at The Very Group’s head office in Liverpool, while the fashion design role will be based in London.

Each intern will receive a competitive full-time salary and a mentor focussed on their personal development. They will play an integral role in exciting projects, establish a wide network of connections and become part of the company’s thriving early talent community.

Fifty undergraduates have completed internships with The Very Group, which operates, since its scheme launched in 2015. In the last 12 months, seven former interns accepted permanent graduate roles with the business in tech and data, retail and financial services. Others have secured roles at organisations including Deloitte, Boohoo and JD Sports.

Applications can be made at until 14 March. Candidates who are successful at that stage will be invited to attend an experience day to complete a group challenge and find out more about the roles and life at The Very Group.

Sarah Willett, chief people officer at The Very Group, said: “Internships provide valuable on-the-job experience and are a great way develop employability skills and stand out when entering the job market.

“We’re so proud of what our interns over the last five years have gone on to achieve and I can’t wait to welcome our next generation this autumn.”

Ethan Harrison, credit analyst and former intern at The Very Group, added: My internship encouraged me to challenge myself, gain responsibility and prepare for life after university. I learned so much about financial services and business generally, and developed my analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

“All of that has been invaluable since I joined The Very Group permanently in 2018.”
